SUMMARY
The PepsiCo research and development facility in Valhalla, New York is comprised of manufacturing, warehouse and office space with a large parking lot area. Maneri~Agraz designed an energy efficient lighting retrofit project that addressed each area with state of the art lighting technology.
Office areas that had been converted to T8 systems were retrofit with 28 watt T8’s and 3rd generation high efficiency ballasts to gain 25% additional savings.
Warehouse areas were converted from HID systems to T5HO linear fluorescent systems with sensors that turn fixtures off when the space is unoccupied, providing 70% energy savings.
Manufacturing areas were also converted from HID 2×2 recessed troffers to T5HO linear fluorescent 2×4 recessed troffers, providing 50% energy savings.
HID Exterior pole fixtures in parking areas were replaced with new induction fixtures, which provide useful life of 5 times the original fixtures and cut the energy by 62%.
